In 2015, I moved into a Benefits Consultant role at a local insurance firm to effect positive change in our client’s lives (both at the Employer and employee level) throughout the community. After an extended period of intense training and development, my client service philosophy crystallized into one centered on accountability, precise communication and innovative & effective resolutions. While the firm was traditionally a voluntary benefits agency, I assisted in the development of a comprehensive Benefits program that ultimately offered the advantages of alternative funding to small employer groups (2-50 lives) through level-premium self-funded plans (often HDHP plans paired with Employer-paid GAP plans) that helped alleviate the pain for Employers of annual premium hikes on the fully-insured plans without cost-shifting to the employees while also implementing concierge medical management programs to improve the employee experience.
